I'M BERSIH, Do You?

709 (9th July 2011) is gonna marked as a memorable date for all the Malaysian.

BERSIH has to be something new for a person that are not so fanatic about the political issue like me. However, this time, the BERSIH 2.0 was really touch me to the heart.

Before I start my post in any further, here is a little bit about BERSIH to share with you all.

BERSIH was formed in 2005 and officially launched on 23 November 2006 in the Malaysian Parliament building lobby by the Joint Action Committee for Electoral Reform. The main objective for BERSIH is to push for a thorough reform of the electoral process in Malaysia towards a clean and fair election. The first demonstration for BERSIH was help on November, 2007, where thousands of Malaysian are reported to participated in the activity to show their support towards BERSIH's objective.

In 2011, BERSIH is back and re-launched as BERSIH 2.0 by Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan as the Chairperson for this event. This time, they aim is to:

1. Clean the electoral roll
2. Reform postal ballot
3. Use of indelible ink
4. Minimum 21 days campaign period
5. Free and fair access to media
6. Strengthen public institutions
7. Stop corruption
8. Stop dirty politics

Report show that 50,000 peoples have joined the rally. Around 1,650 peoples were reported to be arrested by the police before the rally was broken up. More than 150 activists in recent weeks were questioned by  police, and 91 have been barred from the city.

BERSIH 2.0 has given me a lot of thought, regardless is about society, the nation, or self reflection.  I can't understand and found no reason why they have to banned BERSIH 2.O and described it as an illegal rally organized by the outlawed group that use to manipulate the people to gain their support by the opposition leaders. Besides, Bersih wasn’t organized by a political party, it doesn't sides either to the opposition party nor the government in power party.

Attack!
Earlier, the Prime Minister has agreed to reopened the door for discussion with the organisers to discuss the possibility of holding the rally in a stadium with a condition it is done in a peace manner as our beloved PM said he doesn't want to see any injury caused to the public and he want to protect the general public from anything untoward happening to them. But thing seems has goes in the other way. The government has instructed the police to arrest numerous of innocent people who are wearing yellow shirt...

and attacked those who joined the rally with tear gas and the water canon.

The brutality of those police who are suppose to maintain the law, follow the order, and preventing criminal in the country are even clearly shown when they has "acted professionally" by arrested the public, lifted them and push them on the road!

Followed by the died of the 59-year-old Encik Baharuddin bin Ahmad, husband of Puan Rosni Malan (head of the women’s section of Setiawangsa PKR),after tear gas was fired into the crowd at KLCC...

and the injuries of Anwar Ibrahim caused by a tear gas canister fired directly at him and his bodyguard.

So, is this the so called "peace manner" that has carried out by our PM?

I've presumed those intelligent people should have a better understanding on the contain quoted under Article 10(1)(b) of the Federal Constitution, as well as Article 20(1) of the Universal Declaration of Human which saying “it is the right of members of the public to assemble and to express their views in a peaceful manner" rather than me, but seems like I'm wrong. Yes, we are living in a democratic country but yet, we are not allowed to be democracy. Isn't it sound so funny?

The Crowd
Throughout the rally, the people had been orderly and peaceful. They  started the rally peacefully, marched peacefully, and leave peacefully. There was no chaos and no disruption of public peace.  And  a special thanks to the government for spices up the rally and make it successfully drawn a lot of attention from people around the world.

It's even "increased" the confidence level of the foreign investor to keep investing in our country, attracting more visitor to come and visiting our country, polluted the air and created a new record in Malaysia traffic jammed history.=)

Anyway, the campaign is over. But the spirit should keeps going on. The irrational, unreasonable, and illogically action taken by the panicked government during this campaign will caused them to lose a lot of support during the up coming election. Instead, they will gain more support and respect if they can react rationally, endorsed this campaign by thinking positively without banned it. Perhaps, it's time for them to think and reflect, why thing like this will happened.

Before I ended my post, let's take a look of these pictures. I respect this lady to the max! Good Job, Auntie Anne, the Malaysian lady of liberty!

She is old, but her spirit to fight for a better future are even stronger than anyone of us!
See? Isn't she is loving?
Once she started the march, she has no way to stop it before reaching the ending point.
The true beauty of Malaysia-Helping each other regardless of religion and race
Her strength and spirit to finished the march has really inspired me.
I hope that she is doing fine now. Auntie Anne, you are my idol!!!Solute you to the max!

This is the video that they made especially for her...

Dear the people who banned this campaign, don't you feel ashamed after saw her spirit and what your people has does to her?
