Sabah

When I say Keningau, what is the 1st thing passing in your mind? (Well, This question is STRICTLY open for people who never been there only ).

Have visited to Keningau for business purposes in the mid of February, last month accompanied by my FM & QC exec. As usual, my colleague likes to making fun of me and asking me why always going to such places where the birds don't even willing to lay it's eggs there? *sweated!* Well, to be honest, that's what i have thought too before I went there, but surprising me, Keningau is quite a nice place where the peoples are very friendly too.

Just in case if you don't know where is Keningau located, pls kindly refer to below is the map for your references. Back in years 1963, when Sabah just joined the Malaysian Federation, Keningau used to be a booming logging town. But now a days, lots of sawmill were closed down and only few were leave. This is the reason why you can found a lot of those "Taukeh Balak" from others region still stayed at there. The main population in Keningau are Kadazandusun, Murut and Chinese, with some Bajau and a sizeable  Indonesian population working in palms.

Flying off from Miri & transit at Labuan for 15mins, finally, we have reached KKIA (Kota Kinabalu International Airport) around 10am in the morning. Then, transferred from Airport to Keningau by the customer, which has took around 2hours to arrived at Keningau. There is no flight service available from KK to Keningau, the only way to reaching there is by land transport. For your safety reason, I'm strongly recommended you to use 4x4 vehicles to reach there and any vehicles with 850cc or below are not recommended as the chances of you to slide downward are higher when you are on the way  ride up to cross The Crocker Range, especially during rainy days.

There are two different routes from KK town to reach Keningau. You can either go from Tambunan (which the local called it as the "old" road) or from Beaufort (the "new route). And for this trip, we are choosing to adventures through the Beaufort. There are lots of black spot corners & misty zone along the way to Keningau.

Found this big "Labi-Labi" or the SoftShell Turtle at the rest stop somewhere near The Crocker Range (which is one of the highest mountains in Southeast Asia that separates the east coast and west coast of Sabah). Well, I'm was wondering, why there are always "There is a pond, there is a wishing well". Do you get what I mean? I'm wondering why people always throwing coins for "make a wish" purposes whenever they found a pond, a well, a water fountain, or perhaps it is just a small water tank like what you can see in this picture? Anyway, poor little turtle...Hopefully those coins wont choked him.

The Factory

Reached the small peace town around 12pm. Headed to the factory right after finished the lunch. Checked in Hotel Juta after the dinner & the dumped myself on the bed once entered the room. What an exhausted trip and I hate this so much. Oppss, before that's, not forgotten to mention that my FM was cute... Before we opened the door of our room, he said "Girls, remember to "kok kok" (Knocking) the doors before you opened it and stand aside, let them "siam siam" ( give a way out) 1st k!" The word "them" here is refering to those fellows friends from supernatural world. =) Doeas anyone of you did do this too whenever checked in the hotel room? Well, never thought a B I G & S T R O N G guy like him do believe this kind of thing as well.==""

Nothing much to blog about this as It is a quick  and short  x 1 1/2days trip.

Found this along the way to my customer's factory & what even surprising me most is, you can found the horses to gathered among these cow too like "abang & adik". *No pictures to support my words as the car moving too fast, tak sempat to take the pics. But please believe, i'm not bluffing .=)

2nd day.....

Moving back to KK town through another route-->Tambunan route where we have passed by Malaysia’s second highest mountain, Mt Trus Madi. Different than the previous route, you can found a lot of small rivers along this route. Like the scenery so much.

Cold & clear water , strong flow,  river stones.

Continued the workaholic life once arrived at KK. Continued visiting the dealers...

Another exhausted days it's gonna be...

Drop by Tanjung Aru beach before sending off the FM & QC to Airport as they are going to dumped me alone and gong back a day earlier than me...

Love the Sunset very much!

Checked in a big big room in Promenade Hotel, KK. Located just 10mins walk from Warisan Square. And the buffet breakfast was damn yummy & a lot of choices... Strongly recommended for personal stay and family vacation. Alternatively, you can choose to stay at Marina court, which is located just beside Promenade Hotel.
